Las Vegas, United States: Two-time Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship (AAC) winner Lin Yuxin is back to winning ways.
On the back of an impressive victory in the Southern Highlands Collegiate, the talented left-hander has returned to the top-30 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).
Lin, who triumphed in the AAC in 2017 in New Zealand and 2019 in China, opened with an eight-under-par 64 in Las Vegas and followed with rounds of 70 and 69.
The University of Florida student’s 13-under total of 203 was good enough for a three-shot victory and a rise of 13 places to 29th in the WAGR – second among players from China, behind only 17th-placed Ding Wenyi, the reigning US Junior Amateur champion.
Meanwhile, Thailand’s Pimpisa Sisutham is now a top-200 player among the women after emerging victorious in the Vystar Credit Union Gators Invitational over the University of Florida’s Mark Bostick Golf Course.
With the tournament in Gainesville reduced to 36 holes due to poor weather, the University of Central Florida player took her place in a play-off with University of Florida's Maisie Filler thanks to a closing eight-under 62.
The pair played off on seven-under 133 totals, with Pimpisa winning at the third extra hole. She makes a 117-ranking rise to 188th, while US player Filler advances 15 spots to 88th.
