Seoul, Korea: Victory in the Dolmen Cup Amateur Golf Championship has seen Lim Ji-yoo regain her place in the top-10 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).

With rounds of 73, 69 and 68 for a 210 tally, Korean teenager Lim eked out a one-stroke success that enabled her to jump three spots to ninth in the WAGR.

The 17-year-old’s triumph was the culmination of an excellent month during which she finished seventh in the Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific (WAAP) in Singapore and tied for fifth on her debut in the Augusta National Women's Amateur a fortnight ago.

Lim, who has been as high as world number five, also impressed at last year’s WAAP where she ended in a share of sixth spot.

In 2022, she also represented her country in the Women’s World Amateur Team Championships in France.

Lim is now the fourth highest rated Asia-Pacific player in the WAGR after the Japanese trio of Saki Baba (third), Yuna Araki (fifth) and Rin Yoshida (eighth).

The distinction for having the biggest ranking rise of the week went to Thai junior Kanyarak Pongpithanon.

The Thai breaks into the WAGR’s top 900 by jumping 895 positions to 823rd courtesy of a home victory in the Junior Asian Tour. She proved a model of consistency with three consecutive rounds of 70. Her 210 tally gave her the title by one stroke.

In the men’s ranking, Thai Sarut Vongchaisit is closing in on a place in the top-200.

At the Mossy Oak Collegiate at Mossy Oak Golf Course in Westpoint, Maryland, Sarut and American Ryan Eshleman proved inseparable. They were declared joint winners with matching 13-under 203 tallies, one shot ahead of the field.

Ole Miss player Sarut soars 96 places in the WAGR to 224th, while Auburn student Eshleman pushes 172 rankings into the top-300 to 253rd.

At Thailand’s Amata Spring Country Club last year, Sarut finished joint 17th in the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship.
