Orlando, Florida, United States: TMRW Sports has announced the first group of committed LPGA Tour players for WTGL, a new platform for team golf in partnership with the LPGA.
The global group of players is headlined by world number one Jeeno Thitikul from Thailand, winner of the inaugural Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific in 2018 and a role model for young female golfers around the region.
Joining her will be European Solheim Cup stalwart Charley Hull of England, New Zealand’s three-time Olympic medallist Lydia Ko, two-time Major champion Brooke Henderson of Canada, and seven-time US Solheim Cup team member Lexi Thompson.
Mike McCarley, founder and CEO, TMRW Sports “WTGL will be a global stage to showcase LPGA Tour stars, and this first wave of committed players represents that opportunity with some of the world’s best.
“These players will thrive in WTGL’s competitive environment as fans will witness their skill and connect more deeply with their personalities through the unprecedented access the league delivers with every player mic’d in the modern match play team format.”
Preparing for a launch in winter 2026-27, WTGL will feature a season of fast-paced, team match play from the custom-built SoFi Centre in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
As a showcase for the skill, personalities, and team spirit of the participating LPGA stars, WTGL will build upon the foundation of TGL presented by SoFi, which was described as a ‘high-energy arena spectacle’ by Vanity Fair, ‘pure entertainment’ by GQ, and ‘golf’s boldest new venture’ by Fast Company.
In addition to featuring foundational elements of TGL like mic’d up moments, risk-reward team decisions and throwing the Hammer, WTGL will provide the same tech-driven platform with comprehensive shot performance data and statistics-based analytics built seamlessly into the competition.
With Alex Morgan’s Trybe Ventures as the lead capital partner, WTGL is TMRW Sports’ second project and is in partnership with the LPGA.
