Melbourne, Australia: Jazy Roberts and Nadene Gole have added to their trophy collections with impressive wins on home soil.

Roberts continued her stunning recent form with a commanding four-shot success in the Riversdale Cup, one of Australia’s most historic amateur golf tournaments.

The Riversdale Cup is Australia’s second-eldest amateur golf championship, first played in 1896 at Riversdale Golf Club, Victoria’s second-oldest golf club, established in 1892.

After 72 holes of stroke play, Roberts finished at 11-under-par, clear of fellow Victorian and Yarra Yarra Golf Club team-mate Amelia Harris.

The 21-year-old had reached 14-under through three rounds, giving her a comfortable buffer that allowed a closing three-over 76 to secure the win.

The victory continues Roberts’ exceptional run, following a six-shot victory at last month’s Australian Amateur Championship and a tied third finish in the Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific at New Zealand’s Royal Wellington Golf Club the following week.

Roberts extends her lead atop the 2025-26 Karrie Webb Series rankings, adding the Riversdale Cup to previous victories at The Dunes Medal, Port Phillip Open and Australian Amateur Championship.

Meanwhile, Gole won a second New South Wales Senior Amateur crown at Wollongong Golf Club and The Links Shell Cove.

Gole, who claimed her first NSW Senior Amateur title in 2023, finished at eight-over-par with rounds of 76, 71 and 75 in tough conditions.

Defending champion Sue Wooster pushed her hard throughout the final round and finished two shots back in second.

Gole started the final day with a five-shot cushion, but Wooster made a charge, and the Wollongong finale became a genuine contest.

Gole said: “Sue was playing some amazing golf, she was holing everything. At one point I think she was two or three-under. I didn’t play great golf, but I just happened to stay in the game.

“My rhythm was off (in the final round), but it always comes down to patience. I just hang in there, and if someone plays better than me, well, that’s just how it is and all I could do is keep doing what I do.”

Gole, who like Wooster is a former Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation Women’s Senior Amateur champion, acknowledged the quality of the field.

She said: “There are great players here — Jacqui (Morgan), Gemma (Dooley), Lou (Mullard). There are a lot of great players that come and play, so I’m very happy to be taking the NSW Senior championship cup home.”
