EGF Initiates ‘Friends of the Federation’ Programme

Dubai, United Arab Emirates: The Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) has announced the launch of its new ‘Friends of the Federation’ programme, an initiative designed to engage volunteers, golf-lovers, and community members who are passionate about contributing to the growth and future of golf in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

With the sport continuing to expand rapidly across the country, the EGF is calling on golf enthusiasts to become part of this exciting new network, supporting tournaments, events, and development programmes that directly shape the UAE’s golfing eco-system.

The ‘Friends of the Federation’ programme offers unique opportunities for individuals to deepen their involvement in the sport, gain valuable experience, and contribute to national and international golfing events. Members of the programme will have the chance to:

 ·       Volunteer at EGF-sanctioned national and international tournaments.

·       Join upcoming referee training courses and pursue pathways in officiating.

·       Support EGF committees and community-based golf activities.

This initiative reflects the Federation’s commitment to fostering an inclusive, engaged, and skilled volunteer community that plays a vital role in delivering high-quality events and developmental pathways.

“The growth of golf in the UAE is a collective effort, and volunteers are at the heart of every successful tournament and community activation,” said General Abdulla Al-Hashmi, President of the Emirates Golf Federation and Vice Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation.  

“The Friends of the Federation programme provides a platform for individuals to get involved, develop new skills, and become part of the journey as we continue to elevate the sport nationwide,” he added.

Open to all skill levels and backgrounds, the programme welcomes anyone with an enthusiasm for golf and a willingness to contribute to the sport’s advancement in the UAE.
