Singapore: The Singapore Island Country Club (SICC) will continue its role in shaping the future of golf across Asia with the hosting of the SICC Junior Invitational Golf Championship (JIGC) in December.
Inaugurated in 1991 and sanctioned by the Singapore Golf Association, the JIGC has grown into one of the region’s premier junior tournaments, traditionally featuring future world-class professionals.
Among the notable alumni over its three-decade history are Tseng Ya-ni, a former world number one and five-time Major champion on the LPGA Tour; PGA Tour winner and Olympic medallist CT Pan; and Ryan Ang, one of Singapore’s most promising Tour professionals, now playing the PGA Tour of Australasia and himself an ex-SICC junior golfer.
The 31st edition of the 54-hole stroke play tournament will take place on The Bukit Course from December 16-18 and is staged in Boys’ and Girls’ divisions from 13 years to under 19 years old, across multiple age categories.
SICC Captain How Seen Yong said: “The JIGC is much more than a tournament – it’s a tradition that continues to inspire. We are proud to offer a platform where talented juniors can test their skills, gain international exposure and develop lifelong values both on and off the course."
SICC General Manager Ian Roberts added: “The Junior Invitational reflects our commitment to nurturing the sport from the ground up. By investing in youth development, we are not only supporting individual dreams but also contributing to the long-term growth of golf in the region. We are honoured to host these remarkable young athletes at our club.

The World Amateur Ranking-counting event will be contested once more on the revered The Bukit Course, known for its challenging terrain, mature trees and storied heritage.
