Historic All Thailand Tour Triumph for Vietnam's Chuc An Le

Ninh Binh, Vietnam: Teenage amateur standout Chuc An Le has created a notable slice of golfing history by becoming the first Vietnamese female to win an event on the All Thailand Tour.

Displaying poise and a maturity belying her tender years, Chuc upstaged the leading players from the Thai LPGA Tour.

With rounds of 70, 71 and a closing six-under-par 65 at the Trang An Golf Resort, Chuc ensured a memorable conclusion to the first All Thailand event held overseas in the Tour’s 26-year history.

With a 54-hole aggregate of seven-under 206, she finished four strokes clear of joint runners-up Cholcheva Wongras of Thailand and Indonesian Kristina Natalia Yoko.

“Congratulations to Chuc An Le on her historic win at the Tràng An Open,” said Vu Nguyen, Secretary-General at the Vietnam Golf Association.

The 17-year-old Chuc, who took up the game when aged six, won the Girls’ 16 and under category at last year’s Faldo Series Asia Grand Final at Laguna Golf Lang Co.

Her progress has continued into 2025, finishing as the leading Vietnamese in the seventh Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific in joint 30th place at Hoiana Shores in March and placing 22nd in the Royal Junior in Japan last month.

Already the top-rated Vietnamese female in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, Chuc’s latest impressive display will see her improve her current standing of 376th.

Chuc, who has committed to playing collegiate golf at the University of Tennessee in the United States, made a patient start to the final round at Trang An, reeling off eight consecutive pars before picking up her first stroke of the day at the par-five ninth.

Consecutive birdies at 11, 12 and 13 solidified her position atop the leaderboard. Showing no signs of nerves, she made further gains at the 16th and 18th, completing a blemish-free closing round.

In the men’s event that was run concurrently, Nguyen Anh Minh finished in a share of seventh place on 11-under 273.

Anh Minh, who led Vietnam to an historic maiden victory in the Asia-Pacific Men’s Amateur Team Championship for the Nomura Cup last year, won the prize as Best Amateur.
