Tokyo, Japan: The Japan Golf Association (JGA) has entered into a sponsorship agreement with Shinkin Central Bank.

Under this agreement, the JGA will receive sponsorship from Shinkin Central Bank for the Japan Open Golf Championship, the Japan Women’s Open Golf Championship, and the Japan Senior Open Golf Championship, all of which are organised by the association.

In addition, as part of this agreement, Shinkin Central Bank will provide support for the association’s on-going golf promotion and player development programmes.

With the support of Shinkin Central Bank, the JGA said it intends to further enhance the National Open Golf Championship and contribute to the development of local communities in the host regions.

In addition, through events planned by the JGA’s Golf Promotion Headquarters’ Golf and Health Committee and Women and Golf Committee, the association will promote golf, focusing on how life expectancy can be increased through golf and growing the number of female golfers.

Masanari Iketani, Chairman of the JGA, said: “We are pleased to announce that our association has entered into a sponsorship agreement with Shinkin Central Bank.

"The three national Open tournaments hosted by our association – the Japan Senior Open Golf Championship, the Japan Women’s Open Golf Championship, and the Japan Open Golf Championship – are held on some of Japan’s most prestigious courses, befitting the competition to determine the best in Japan, and attract a large number of spectators every year.

“With the support of Shinkin Central Bank, we hope to contribute to the development of local communities by providing visitors with the opportunity to enjoy the exciting competition between players who are active both domestically and internationally, and to experience the wonders of golf.

“Furthermore, Shinkin Central Bank will also support the development of the next generation of players who will lead the future of Japanese golf. Many of the players currently active on Tours around the world, including in the United States, have gained international experience as representatives of Japan on the JGA National Team.

“Our association will continue to develop and strengthen the next generation of players, producing players who will follow in their footsteps.”
