Han Headlines Strong Singapore Junior Masters Field

Singapore: Brandon Han, a member of Singapore’s gallant Nomura Cup team, is spearheading a strong home contingent in this week’s Trust Golf Singapore Junior Masters.

Han was part of the three-man Singapore team that finished runners-up to Japan in the Philippines a fortnight ago – the Island Republic’s best-ever performance in the Asia-Pacific Amateur Golf Team Championship.

This week he’s among the favourites at Laguna National Golf Resort Club in a field that includes players from 20 nations and will be staged in three divisions – Open (20 years and under), Junior (16 years and under), and Super Junior (13 years and under), in both boys’ and girls’ categories.

Joining Han in the Boys’ Open Division are Thai brothers Ingtawan and Chidtawan Wangrungwichaisri, Malaysian Poon Jia Hao and Leo Thessen from Sweden.

In the girls’ divisions, Singapore’s XingTong Chen, Elaine Widjaja from Indonesia, Arianna Lau from Hong Kong, Thai Krittiya Thanintorndamrongde and Louise Landgraf from France, are front-runners in the Open division.

Meanwhile, the future stars in the Under 13 division will see Singapore hopefuls Passion Hsu and Sydnie Ng face off against strong opposition from Thais Kankawee Linjongsubongkong, Natchanan Sunthonthip and Suritpreeya Pruksanubal and Lucy Lin of Canada.

Lyn Yeo, Founder of event management firm LLD Sports, and the Singapore Junior Masters, said: “Not only do we offer the experience of a high quality, truly international event, but there is also the opportunity to participate in a variety of other world-class events in 2023, as well as new local tournaments such as the BFG Junior Invitational and the Junior Ranking Series.

“These will be added to the 2023 calendar, and thus exposing our juniors to even more top-level golf from the region and beyond.”

Trust Golf Founder Dr Prin Singhanart said: “Lyn Yeo is our trusted partner in Singapore. The Singapore Junior Masters and her series of tournaments throughout the year creates the pathway for young and elite players to pursue their dreams. Trust Golf is proud to be this year’s title sponsor helping to inspire the next generation of champions in this region.”
