Singapore: On the back of notable triumphs, New Zealand’s Eunseo Choi and Thai Marisa Tojai have risen to new heights in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).

While Choi scored a dominant victory in the West Coast Conference Women's Golf Championship at Green Valley Country Club in Fairfield, California, Tojai tore up the record books with her runaway success in the ANNIKA Invitational Asia at Laguna Golf Phuket.

Second-year Pepperdine University student Choi won by eight shots after carding rounds of 71, 68 and 68 for a nine-under 207 total.

It was her second victory of the year following the Fresno State Classic and sees her advance four spots to 55th in the WAGR, within touching distance of breaking into the top-50 for the first time.

A member of the New Zealand team, alongside Vivian Lu and Fiona Xu, that placed runners-up at the Queen Sirikit Cup in 2022, Choi has represented her country on three occasions at the Women’s World Amateur Team Championship (2022, 2023 and 2025).

Choi, aged 19, also has a proud record in the Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific (WAAP) having participated in the past five editions and made the cut in all of them with a best of tied 13th at Vietnam’s Hoiana Shores Golf Club in 2025.

In Phuket, meanwhile, Tojai produced one of the most eye-catching performances of the year in women’s amateur golf.

On day two at the ANNIKA Invitational Asia, the 16-year-old scorched her way to a 13-under-par 58 at Laguna Golf Phuket, a round which included nine birdies and two eagles.

Added together with her opening even-par 71 and closing 72, Tojai’s 12-under 201 total was 12 strokes clear of her closest rival.

It was Tojai’s second straight win, following on from her victory at last week’s Singha Thailand Amateur Match Play.

Her latest triumph has seen her soar 108 positions to 283rd on this week’s WAGR, the first time she’s made it into the top-300.

Marisa Tojai celebrates her win in Phuket which included a second round of 13-under 58.
