Da Nang, Vietnam: Hoiana Shores Golf Club will collaborate with the Club Management Association of America (CMAA) to support the launch of the Business Management Institute (BMI) Asia-Pacific Programme, a landmark initiative aimed at elevating professional standards and advancing career development within the club and golf industries across the region.
The announcement follows a series of successful international engagements that have reinforced Hoiana Shores Golf Club’s reputation as a world-class venue.
The club hosted the Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific (WAAP) championship in 2024, earning widespread acclaim for its championship course conditions, facilities, and service excellence. The event received strong praise from leading organisations including The R&A, the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC), and the Vietnam Golf Association (VGA), as well as from international media and national team players across the region.
Developed by CMAA, the BMI programme is a globally recognised education pathway that equips club management professionals with advanced knowledge, leadership capabilities, and practical operational skills essential for today’s evolving industry. Participants in the programme will also have the opportunity to pursue the prestigious Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation – an internationally recognised benchmark of professional excellence.
During strategic meetings between Hoiana Shores Golf Club and CMAA representatives, including Jason Koenigsfeld and APGC General Manager Nick Shan, both parties explored opportunities to establish a comprehensive education framework tailored specifically to the Asia-Pacific region.
The initiative aims to support career development for current club managers while nurturing the next generation of leaders within the golf and hospitality industries.
With strong endorsement from senior leadership, Hoiana Shores Golf Club has committed to serving as the official host venue for the BMI Asia-Pacific Programme. The inaugural programme is scheduled to take place from August 17-21, marking a milestone in advancing professional education within the regional golf industry.
Aylwin Tai, a respected industry professional with more than 20 years of experience, will work closely with CMAA to support programme implementation.
The BMI Asia-Pacific Programme is supported and endorsed by both The R&A and the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation, reinforcing Hoiana Shores Golf Club’s long-term commitment to excellence, innovation, and professional development across the Asia-Pacific golf community.
