Jakarta, Indonesia: The Mandiri Ciputra Golfpreneur Junior World Championship has entered a new chapter. In addition to continuing its title sponsorship with Bank Mandiri, the tournament has, for the first time, received support from the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC).

The 2026 event, to be held at Damai Indah Golf, PIK Course, from June 10-12, marks the fourth consecutive year that Bank Mandiri has served as title sponsor. A total of 137 golfers from 31 countries have registered for the tournament, which has been held since 1993.

Budiarsa Sastrawinata, Founder and Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Ciputra Golfpreneur Foundation (CGF) who also serves as Chairman of the Indonesian Golf Course Owners Association (APLGI), said: “The impact of a growing number of international athletes coming to compete will be very positive for Indonesian athletes.

"I thank the athletes from various countries who have shown interest in joining this tournament. I also extend my thanks to Bank Mandiri as title sponsor and to the other sponsors who have kindly supported the journey of this event.”

The Mandiri Ciputra Golfpreneur Junior World Championship (CGJWC) 2026 has, for the first time, received official sanction from the APGC. This step aims to broaden participation from the APGC’s 47 member organisations, while raising the overall standard of junior competition. The collaboration with the APGC is aimed at increasing the number of participating countries, as well as improving player quality.

During a visit to Jakarta to meet the founders and management of CGF, Philip Hassall, Chairman of the APGC, said: “We hope that the APGC’s involvement will help the CGJWC become even more sought after by the best young golfers in the Asia-Pacific region.

“We have long-standing partnerships with several major, prestigious championships including the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship, in partnership with The R&A and The Masters Tournament, and the Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific, in partnership with The R&A.

"The APGC also has a number of major partners with significant resources to develop golf in our region, so we can act as a beneficial force for the sport’s growth.”

Nararya Ciputra Sastrawinata, Chair of the CGF, said the Mandiri Ciputra Golfpreneur Junior World Championship has consistently provided opportunities for junior golfers to compete at a world-class level.

“With so many international athletes coming, our athletes become accustomed to high-level competition. If they want to advance their careers, they will have to compete against athletes from outside their usual circles. By getting used to playing in international, world‑class tournaments, our junior golfers become better prepared to go to the next level,” said Nararya.

The Ciputra Golfpreneur Junior World Championship was initiated 33 years ago by the late Dr (HC) Ir. Ciputra. After being contested as a national championship until 2003, the tournament’s scope expanded to Southeast Asia (2004), Asia (2006) and then to a world level in 2007.

Among the notable golfers who have graced the event include Thais Thanyakon Krongpha, Danthai Boonma, Sarit Suwannarut, Patty Tavatanakit and Pajaree Anannarukarn, Japanese Taiga Semikawa, Nasa Hataoka and Miyu Goto, and China’s Guan Tianlang.

A spokesperson for Bank Mandiri said: “We remain committed to supporting the organisation of the Mandiri Ciputra Golfpreneur Junior World Championship 2026. We believe that supporting the development of golf and related activities creates added value for our corporate banking and transactional banking customers within the golf eco-system.

“This support aims to provide a platform for young Indonesian golfers to compete with athletes from other countries. This opportunity is crucial not only for the athletes themselves but also for the chance to raise the profile of Indonesia in a prestigious competition.”

Among the countries that will be represented at Damai Indah are Australia, Bangladesh, Botswana, Cambodia, China, Chinese Taipei, Denmark, Germany, Ghana, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Namibia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Uganda, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe.
